Brighten Your Home With Flowers

Spring is here, perfect time to take advantage of the beauty surrounding us and bring a bit of it indoors. I do this in Florida year-round, placing vases with branches in bloom, evergreens and flowers throughout the house.

Flowers are beautiful and don’t have to be fancy; I use crotons and a variety of ferns and native greens: palms, plantain leaves, elephant ears, as well as bougainvillea, oleander, amaryllis, azaleas, wild lilies and any interesting plant found in the yard.

All we need is a vase and water with a couple of aspirins to avoid decay.  During winter, I gather dry twisted branches, spray-painted with gold, and set it with evergreens like pine branches and Florida holy.
